I can’t say for sure what initially attracted me to teaching. It’s just something I have always seen myself doing. I always enjoyed helping other people and passing on knowledge, particularly trying to teach family and friends the new language that I was learning in school and that has stayed with me into my training.

Of course it’s hard work and at times your patience is tested but, and I know everyone says this, the rewarding moments more than make up for it; a child who struggles in your subject who suddenly finds clarity in a point of grammar. The sense of achievement on his/her face gives an amazing feeling of fulfilment and makes all your effort feel worthwhile.

Warwick is a great place to be training. Although I felt nervous on my first day on placement I felt incredibly well prepared for what was expected of me. Warwick has a fantastic support system in place and I know that help or reassurance is never more than an email or phone call away. I think as long as you know what the course entails and are prepared to put in the effort, the PGCE can be an amazing year and Warwick is a great place to enrich that experience.
